Benefits of training

Classes cater to men, women and teenagers, and are designed to motivate and challenge students who are looking to develop both physically and mentally. Training offers an opportunity to get in shape and maintain an effective fitness regimen, while also learning proven self-defense skills that heighten self confidence and personal awareness. Teenage students find that being surrounded by other teens with positive values and adults with real life experience greatly enhances their learning of how focus, respect, and self-discipline give them a huge advantage in life.

The repeated practice of techniques and sequences has similarities to classroom learning and revision. A student will study a syllabus for a belt grading in the same way they would prepare for a test or an exam. Prioritising aspects of the grading to highlight areas which require more focused practiced promotes independent learning.

Even though most people get into karate for the physical benefits, it’s the mental ones that keep them coming. You will be able to think clearer, act faster and go further. You will become braver, bolder and take on challenges you never thought you could. Karate doesn’t change things, it changes you – the way you think, the way you look, the way you are. Regardless of your fitness level or athletic ability, we can transform you, physically and mentally, into a fighter. Karate is not reliant on pure physical strength. It’s brains over brawn, mind over matter and survival of the fittest, physically and mentally. Karate is a skill that can be learned that levels the playing field.

Improve Physical Fitness: Karate is like an exercise program with a bonus! You learn to defend yourself while you get in shape.

Relieve Stress: Martial arts classes are well known for their stress relieving benefits. The emphasis on mind-body training goes far beyond the benefits of standard exercise programs.

Develop Confidence: The confidence building part of our program is what students appreciate the most. If you want to see what our version of a fighter looks like, stand in front of a mirror, pick up your hands and make a fist. That person staring back at you is a fighter.

Practical self defence: At our school, everything we teach is reality based. Our instructors work very hard to insure that our students learn to defend themselves with practical, proven self-defense techniques.

Have Fun and Make New Friends: Classes are designed to be exciting and fun. When our students are enjoying themselves, everyone learns faster and better.
